What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide the best possible quote to each customer we need a few pieces of information. The date and times of the event as well as the location are essential. We also like to know the type of event that you are hosting, are you looking to book one of our activities as a fundraiser, or are you a school looking for development sessions? Once we know a bit more about your event we can give you not just the best quote but the best advice on the activities as well.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask as many questions as you want and ask for images. In everyone's line of work people speak in 'jargon' don't be afraid to ask what something means of ask for an image of it so you can truly understand what you are talking about and eventually what you are booking. Qualifications are really important, they show that the supplier has been assessed and is safe to run the activities. However, so is experience. I worked for over 10 years in the industry before setting up the business and this shows in the level of instructing that we offer. Most importantly don't take their word for it! Ask for testimonials, ask for lots of them and make sure you can trace who has said them. A testimonial that has a picture, name and company details tend to be more truthful. If you feel the need, google the person who left the testimonial and see if they really did say it.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
My partner and I worked for a variety of different outdoor activity centres in different roles from an apprentice to senior instructor and chief instructor. We often spoke to teachers and leaders that commented that the most expensive and difficult bit to organise was the transport to the centre. We decided to eliminate this difficulty and bring the activities to them. Once we had the idea of a mobile adventure centre we knew we could reach festivals and events as well as schools to make outdoor adventure activities more accessible to everyone.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I already have recommended Add to Event to my friend's company that cater weddings. This website is easy to use and a direct form way of gaining leads. The people that are on the site having searched for archery or a climbing wall are my exact customers!
We have had a few multi day events that are always good, however I think our best booking was for Girl Guiding at Alexandra Palace. 3000 excited girls of all ages taking part in our activities. It was a great event, extremely well managed and a pleasure to attend.
